ചെയ്തരീതി ശരിയാണ്. ഉപയോഗിച്ച അറക്കപ്പൊടിയില്‍ ഈര്‍പ്പത്തിന്‍റെ അളവ് കൂടിയതാകാന്‍ വഴിയുണ്ട്. വിത്തിഞ്ചി വിളവെടുക്കാതെ മണ്ണില്‍ തന്നെ ആവുന്നത്രനാള്‍ നിലനിര്‍ത്തുക. വിളവെടുത്തശേഷം സൂക്ഷിക്കേണ്ട കാലയളവ് ഏറ്റവും കുറയ്ക്കാന്‍ ഇതുവഴി സാധിക്കും. വിളവെടുത്തശേഷം സൂക്ഷിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ തന്നെ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന അറക്കപ്പൊടി നന്നായി ഉണങ്ങിയതാകാന്‍ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക. അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ പൂപ്പല്‍ വരും. അറക്കപ്പൊടിക്കു മുകളിലായി വാടിയ പാണല്‍ ഇല കമ്പോടുകൂടി നിരത്തി അതിനു മുകളിലായി ഇഞ്ചി സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നതാണ് ഏറ്റവും നല്ലതെന്ന് നാട്ടറിവുകള്‍ പറയുന്നു.
